Beginning Sunday, Oct. 8 at 7 a.m., Sircal Contracting Inc., a contractor for the University of Missouri, plans to begin urgent repairs of deteriorated underground steam piping. This work will require excavation into the existing steam tunnel beneath Ninth Street and will result in a total lane and sidewalk closure between University Avenue and Conley Avenue for a length of approximately 70 feet adjacent to Lowry Mall. The work associated with the closure is scheduled to be completed by April 1, 2018, weather permitting.
Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians are urged to obey all traffic control signs and devices, exercise extreme caution when near the work zone, and find an alternate route whenever possible.
