[Schedule Change] Nighttime lane restrictions scheduled for Stadium Boulevard and Old 63 intersection, beginning Sept. 24

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced on Sept. 22 that Capital Paving, a subcontractor for APLEX, Inc., plans to begin milling and paving operations at Stadium and Old 63 on Sunday evening, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m (a day earlier than previously announced).

This will result in Stadium Boulevard being reduced to one lane in each direction at the approach to the intersection. Lane reductions will be in place each evening from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. The intersection will remain open; however, various turn lanes may be restricted and traffic delays may occur while the work operations pass through the intersection.

Paving is expected to be completed by Oct. 4, weather permitting. Permanent markings will be replaced the week of Oct 2, weather permitting, which may also cause minor delays.

Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution in the work zone and use an alternate route if possible.

Updates on project progress are available at www.como.gov/publicworks/stadium-old63.

Nighttime lane restrictions scheduled for Stadium Boulevard and Old 63 intersection, Sept. 25-Oct. 6

The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced on Sept. 19 that APLEX Inc. plans to begin milling and asphalt overlay operations at the intersection of Stadium Boulevard and Old 63 during evening hours starting Sept. 25, weather permitting.

This will result in Stadium Boulevard being reduced to one lane in each direction at the approach to the intersection. Lane reductions will be in place each evening from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Once the paving is done, new traffic markings will be installed. Paving and striping operations are expected to be completed by Oct. 6, weather permitting.

Extreme caution is advised in the work zone. Flaggers will direct traffic, but commuters and students using the intersection should allow extra time for their commute or consider alternate routes if possible. Minor traffic delays are likely.
