Detectives with the Columbia Police Street Crimes Unit arrested Jamale Ewayne Marteen, 34, of Columbia for Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence related to Friday night's homicide investigation in the 1800 block of McKee Street.
Through the investigation, Criminal Investigations Division detectives obtained information that Marteen deleted text messages from his phone that were connected to incidents leading up to the shooting. A warrant request was submitted to the Prosecuting Attorney's office on 9/17/17 for Marteen.
Marteen was arrested on 9/18/17 at 10:55 a.m. in the 1800 block of McKee Street for a Felony Warrant with an original charge of Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence with a cash only bond of $100,000.00.
