SERIOUS INJURY ACCIDENT AT STADIUM/I0-70 DRIVE NW

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Serious Injury Accident

DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 09/04/16 @ 0456 hours                

           

ACCIDENT LOCATION:   Stadium/I-70 Drive NW                   

                       

DRIVER 1:                Male Driver

                                    Boone County, MO

                                    Age: 34

                                    Injured: Serious/Life Threatening

                                    Seatbelt use: No

                                    Alcohol/drug use: Drug use suspected

 

                                   

 

INCIDENT DETAILS:

 

                        The crash occurred as vehicle 1 was traveling south on Stadium approaching I-70 Drive Northwest in the outside lane. Vehicle 1 began fading to the right and was partially in the right turn lane. Vehicle 1 continued in between the two lanes and crashed into a signal light pole. Driver 1 was transported to the hospital with serious/life threatening injuries. After the crash, Methamphetamine was located within the vehicle.  Next of kin has not been notified.

 

                        The investigation is ongoing.
