Columbia Police officers responded to the 1400 block of Greensboro Drive at 11:31 p.m. yesterday in reference to a subject with a gunshot wound.
Upon officers' arrival they located blood stains at a residence. A short time later, officers were advised by Boone County Joint Communications that a male had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Officers did not locate any shell casings in the area, however, they observed damage from gunfire to a residence. Witnesses in the area reported hearing multiple shots fired prior to the male being transported by personal vehicle to the hospital.
At 12:13 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Quail Drive in reference to shots heard. Upon officers' arrival, they located shell casings in the area. There were no reported injuries or property damage from this incident.
The Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate each of the above mentioned incidents. Being the investigations are both very early on, it is unclear if these incidents are related.
