This originally began this morning around 2:02 a.m., when officers were dispatched to shots fired in the 1500 block of Native Dancer Court. Officers arrived on scene and located a magazine from a gun in a backyard of a residence on Native Dancer Court. A witness described seeing two juveniles running from a backyard at the time of the call.
A short time later, a male victim contacted the police department to report his vehicle had been broken into in the 4000 block of Hockaday Place and his firearm had been stolen. The magazine found in the backyard in the 1500 block of Native Dancer Court belonged to the victim.
At around 9:07 a.m., officers were dispatched again to the area of Native Dancer Court and Derby Ridge Drive in reference to shots fired. Officers arrived on scene with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Boone County Sheriff's Department searching the area for the suspects. Two juveniles were taken into custody without incident and the stolen firearm from Hockaday Place has been recovered. The investigation is still ongoing.
