Tre Deshaun Banks, age 24, from Columbia, was arrested for Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felony Unlawful Use of Weapons.
On 7/14/17 at 12:53 a.m., a sergeant was on foot patrol in the area when he heard one shot fired from inside of Roxy's Night Club, located at 1025 East Broadway. An employee contacted the sergeant and pointed out the person that shot one round into the ceiling. The suspect took off running out of Roxy's Night Club west on Broadway. After a short foot pursuit, the sergeant arrested Tre D. Banks at Tenth and Broadway. The officer searched Banks and located a handgun magazine in his back left pants pocket and marijuana inside Banks' left front pants pocket. Banks told the officer the handgun was located behind a nearby newspaper stand. The sergeant located the gun where Banks said he put it.
The investigation determined that two groups of males were in a verbal argument inside of Roxy's Night Club. While Bar staff was trying to get both groups out of the club, Two males from the group began getting into a disturbance when a shot was fired into the ceiling. There was no one injured from the shot fired. Banks admitted his involvement in the incident.
