Columbia Police officers arrested Joshua Michael McWilliams, 23, of Columbia in reference to last night's shots fired call in the 4300 block of Rice Road.
On 6/26/17 at 8:30 p.m., Boone County Joint Communications received a call regarding shots fired in the 4300 block of Rice Road. The caller reported a subject, later identified as Joshua McWilliams, discharged a firearm in the area and then concealed the firearm in a nearby vehicle.
Officers arrived to the area at 8:42 p.m. where they located a single shell casing near the intersection of Boyd Lane and Rice Road. McWilliams was located a short time later in the 4400 block of Stevendave near his residence. Officers conducted a search of McWilliams' residence and located a cartridge matching the spent cartridge casing located in the roadway as well as a felony amount of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. McWilliams is also the respondent in a valid order of protection which states he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Officers arrested McWilliams at 9:27 p.m. in the 4400 block of Stevendave for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $4500.00 bond, Misdemeanor Violation of an Order of Protection with a $1000.00 bond and Misdemeanor Unlawful Use of a Weapon with a $500.00 bond.
