[UPDATE] Lane shifts, restrictions scheduled on Conley Road beginning June 26

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

UPDATE DETAILS: Because the contractor, Emery Sapp & Sons, is concerned that a temporary all-way stop at the north Walmart drive entrance would cause issues with the traffic flow on Conley Road, the lane shift was installed without stop signs. Traffic in the area will continue to be evaluated as to whether stop signs will be necessary.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE: Beginning
Monday, June 26 at 7 a.m., Emery Sapp & Sons is scheduled to begin road work affecting the travel lanes on Conley Road, from near the north Walmart drive entrance to the U.S. Route 63 overpass. Lane shifts will be necessary, and a temporary all-way stop is being added at the north Walmart drive entrance.

Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when near the work zone and use an alternate route if possible.

Emery Sapp & Sons Inc., a contractor for Conley Road Transportation Development District, has a work permit approved by the City of Columbia. This work is part of the Conley Road TDD's East Boulevard Extension project, which will connect Conley Road north of Walmart to Business Loop 70 at its existing terminus near East Boulevard.

During construction of this project, closures, restrictions, lane shifts, etc. will be necessary at various times on Conley Road, Business Loop 70, East Boulevard, Eastland Circle, Eastwood Circle and Mehl Road. A complete traffic control and construction phasing plan was prepared by Conley Road TDD's engineering consultant, Engineering Surveys & Services. The project is scheduled for a Summer 2018 completion.
