Beginning Monday, June 26 at 7 a.m., Jeff Schnieders Construction Co. plans to install new water and sewer service lines for Grant Elementary School, weather permitting. The construction will result in a closure of both vehicular travel lanes and sidewalks on Garth Avenue between Broadway and Crestmere Avenue. However, the two drive approaches for Columbia Public Library will be open as the work will be done between the two drives.
The sidewalk closure will be phased such that the sidewalk on one side of the road will be open at all times. The work associated with the closure is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, June 28 at 5 p.m, weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when near the work zone and use an alternate route.Jeff Schnieders Construction Co., a contractor for Columbia Public Schools, has a work permit approved by the City of Columbia.
