The Columbia Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to a storage barn fire on May 31, 2017 at 10:55 a.m. at Nifong Park. A CPD detective and CFD Assistant Fire Marshall responded to the scene to investigate and interview witnesses about the fire.
A Columbia Assistant Fire Marshall determined the fire was intentionally set. A CPD detective located witnesses that described seeing the juvenile in the area prior to the fire. The juvenile was located and taken into custody for Misdemeanor Reckless Burning or Exploding and released to the Juvenile Office.
