Columbia Parks and Recreation is offering the opportunity for the public to provide input on the construction of the new Columbia Sports Fieldhouse. The fieldhouse is set to be built at Philips Park, 5050 Bristol Lake Parkway.
Two drop-in meetings will be held. The first will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 2 and the second meeting will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on May 10. Both meetings will be held at the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash.
The sports fieldhouse will feature four courts for basketball and volleyball leagues, tournaments and other sporting events. The facility will be designed for expansion, with potential for four more courts.
Plans will be on display at both public input meetings. Staff will be available to answer questions and take comments.
The project is budgeted at $3.7 million with $2.7 million coming from the voter-approved Park Sales Tax and $1 million from the Convention and Visitors Bureau Tourism Development Fund.
