Update - Arrests made in Madison Street homicide

Columbia Police detectives obtained arrest warrants for Darold Dewayne Pruitt, 45, and Devontre Deshawn Kennedy, 23, both of Columbia in connection to last Tuesday's shooting/homicide in the 1000 block of Madison Street.

Pruitt and Kennedy were both in custody at the Boone County Jail at the time warrants were issued for their arrests. The warrants were served to Pruitt and Kennedy at approximately 11:47 a.m. for Felony Murder in the Second Degree, Felony Discharge/Shoot Firearm At Or From Motor Vehicle/Shoot At Person, Motor Vehicle, or Building, and Felony Assault in the Second Degree, respectively. They are being held at the Boone County Jail on $1,000,000 cash only bonds.

The Criminal Investigations Division spent hours around the clock for the last week working this case in efforts of apprehending suspects. We are very proud of their hard work and dedication that made these arrests possible.
