UPDATE: STOLEN VEHICLE LOCATED AND ARREST MADE
On 3/4/17 at 11:42 p.m., an officer observed a silver Toyota Avalon traveling westbound in the 1200 block of Grindstone Parkway. The officer recognized the vehicle as the one that was stolen on 3/3/17 at 10:10 p.m. in the 4800 block of Clark Lane.
The officer went to conduct a traffic stop and the driver of the vehicle refused to stop. Officers lost sight of the vehicle but a short time later located the stolen vehicle unoccupied in a parking lot with the lights on and the driver's side door open in the 3900 block of Buttonwood. Officers located Rodney Kemp walking on the Taco Bell parking lot located at 508 E. Nifong Boulevard and he matched the description of the person seen driving the stolen vehicle.
Rodney Royell Kemp, age 23, from Columbia, was arrested for Resisting or Interfering in an Arrest Felony and Tampering in the First Degree Felony.
