The Columbia Police Department invites our media partners to join in the conversation at the third quarterly command staff meeting with the media. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the Police Administration building located on 7th Street between Walnut Street and Broadway Street.
As a department, we recognize the importance of our media partners having access to discuss topics with our command staff. Oftentimes the day-to-day operations of the police department make it difficult for command staff to be available. These quarterly meetings are designed to increase accessibility to command staff and to assist reporters with insight and understanding of police practices. A better understanding will help us develop stronger working relationships.
Present at meeting will be: Chief Burton, Deputy Chief Schlude, Deputy Chief Gordon, Assistant Chief Hunter, Sergeant Bob Dochler, Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer, and Public Information Officer Bryana Larimer. The meeting will be an open forum, so please bring any questions or topics of interest. If you are looking for statistics or have questions involving statistics, it would be helpful for you to send those in advance so our staff is as prepared as possible to answer your questions. As a reminder, we do not comment on pending litigation. Cameras and recorders are permitted.
We are looking forward to meeting with each of you and we hope you'll be in attendance!
