Beginning Thursday, Jan. 5, at 8 a.m., private contractor Grove Construction plans to begin installing lighted artwork for the Downtown Columbia Improvement District (CID), weather permitting. This will result in a sidewalk closure and lane restrictions on E. Walnut Street between N. Fifth Street and N. Sixth Street near 500 E. Walnut St. The work associated with the closure and restrictions is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Jan. 6 by 3 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians should use caution in and around the work area and find alternate routes if possible.
Grove Construction has a work permit from the City of Columbia.
