Columbia Police officers were dispatched at 8:48 p.m. to the area of Spencer Avenue and Worley Street in reference to shots heard.
Upon officers' arrival, they located a male victim inside a residence in the area with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding and stabilize the victim for transport to a local hospital. Officers canvassed the area and located several shell casings in the 700 block of Spencer Avenue. At least one house and one vehicle were also struck by the gunfire. At the time of this release, the condition of the victim is unknown. The investigation is on-going.
