Columbia Parks and Recreation will host the last Neighborhood Park Fun Day of 2016, from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Albert-Oakland Park, 1900 Blue Ridge Road. The event will be Halloween-themed with free spooky games and activities.
GetAbout Columbia staff will be at the event to offer minor bicycle maintenance, such as adding air to tires and adjusting cable and brakes. The event will also feature a demonstration of disc golf, provided by George Smith from Show Me Disc Sports and a rugby demonstration by the Black Sheep Women's rugby team.
Neighborhood Park Fun Days are designed to bring together the residents who live in the area of the parks and provide recreational opportunities. These events are free and no registration is needed. Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and food.
Neighborhood Park Fun Days are presented by Aetna. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 573-874-7460. Organizations that are interested in hosting a game or activity should call 573-817-5077.
