Wilkes Boulevard is scheduled to be closed to through traffic between Fay Street and College Avenue starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and ending at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12.
Detour signs will direct traffic around the worksite using Fay Street and College Avenue. Through pedestrian access will be available on the north side of Wilkes Boulevard.
The closure is due to work being performed by Emery Sapp & Sons to remove, repair and replace sanitary sewer taps for property owned by Jack Rader located at 1212 Wilkes Ave.
Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians are urged to use caution in the work zone and find alternative routes.
