Registration for online and phone payments for Columbia Utilities

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

City of Columbia Utilities' customers will need to re-register for online or phone payments due to the new billing system that was implemented this week. Automatic payments from a customer's bank do not have to be reset. Due to the transferring of billing systems, the billing department has had a busy week. The City of Columbia appreciates everyone's patience. The goal of the new billing software is to provide greater transparency on the utility charges.

ONLINE

  • All utility customers will need to sign up for this service again at https://ipn2.paymentus.com/cp/como.
  • Have your utility bill close by so you can enter your account number to gain access.
    • You will need to include all the digits on your account number, including the zeros, without a dash.
      • For example, if the account number is 123456-12345, the customer needs to enter it into the system as 001234560012345 because the customer identification number (left of dash) must be eight digits and the location identification number (right of the dash) must be seven digits.

PHONE

  • To make a payment by phone, please call 1-844-234-0641 or 573-874-7694.

The new utility bill will be double-sided, giving customers the opportunity to have more details on how utilities are charged. There will be up to two years of electric and water usage data graphs so customers can track consumption. Rates for each utility service will be itemized. Customers will start receiving the new bills beginning the first of September.

There are two separate software modules for paper and electronic billing so those who have signed up for electronic bills will receive a paper copy until winter/spring of 2017.
