UPDATE: ARREST MADE IN SHOTS FIRED ON BODIE DRIVE
On 8/30/16 at 11:00 a.m., detectives arrested Branden J. Truss at 421 Range Line Street for the following: Armed Criminal Action with a to be set bond, Domestic Assault in the First Degree with a to be set bond, Endangering the Welfare of Children in the Second Degree x 2 with a bond of $9,000.00, First Degree Assault with a to be set bond, Property Damage in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00, and Unlawful Use of Weapons Felony with a bond of $4,500.00.
On 8/28/16 at 1:16 a.m., officers were flagged down by four females at Hitt Street and Broadway. The female victims reported a male known to them pulled out a gun and pointed it at them during an argument. All four victims left the downtown area and went to a residence in the 1400 block of Bodie Drive.
The four victims (3 - 19 year olds, 1 - 21 year old and two children ages 4 and three months old) were outside the residence talking in the driveway when Branden Truss along with two other male suspects started shooting at them. The victims ran inside the residence and were not injured. One of the female victims, age 19, was in a relationship with Truss.
Officers arrived on the scene and found two bullet holes in one of the victim's vehicle. The other two male suspects have not been arrested.
