Celebrate our nation's birthday and Declaration of Independence at Columbia's 64th annual Fourth of July celebration. Entertainment and activities begin at 6:30 p.m. at Flat Branch Park and Peace Park in The District in downtown Columbia.
A fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. and will be shot from the top of the Sixth and Cherry parking garage. The fireworks display will be choreographed to music and simulcast on BXR radio 102.3.
Entertainment featuring Ironweed Bluegrass Band, Kay Brothers, Brad Cunningham Band and the Kansas City Street Band is scheduled for each park. Children's activities and crafts will be located at Flat Branch Park. Food trucks and vendors will be located by each park.
The event is made possible by generous sponsor donations from Columbia Insurance Group and KOMU8 as presenting sponsors and by the Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club, BXR102.3, KFRU1400 and Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau.
