Meyer Electric Company has tentatively rescheduled work for the Worley and Clinkscales project to Tuesday, May 31.
Check Columbia Public Works Twitter (@pub_works) or Facebook for further updates on this project.
Original Press Release: May 16, 2016
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Beginning Monday, May 23, 2016, at 7 a.m., Meyer Electric Company is scheduled to begin construction to replace the traffic signals and sidewalk at the intersection of Worley and Clinkscales.
The project consists of the installation of crosswalks on all four legs of the intersection and new signal equipment, including audible pedestrian signals with countdown timers and flashing-yellow left-turn arrows on Worley Street.
Reconstruction of the two sidewalk ramps on the south side will be necessary to meet current ADA regulations. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provides comprehensive civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities in the areas of employment, state and local government services, public accommodations, transportation and telecommunications.
This work will result in lane closures and an all-way stop beginning on or about June 1, 2016. Construction time is estimated to be 75 calendar days.
Motorists and non-motorized transportation users are urged to use extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
