ARMED ROBBERY BREAKTIME ON PROVIDENCE
On 1/19/16 at approximately 9:35 P.M. Officers were dispatched to 200 Providence Road North, Break Time Convenience Store, in reference to an armed robbery.
The investigation revealed a black male armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money heading eastbound towards the AVIS Car Rental. The clerk was not injured and ran after the suspect but lost the suspect behind AVIS. Officers followed tracks in the snow to a running vehicle in the Columbia Tribune Parking Lot. Officers closed off Ash Street and performed a felony traffic stop but the vehicle was unoccupied. The owner of the vehicle came out to the car and was not involved in the robbery.
The suspect was described as a black male, early 20's, approximately 5'8" to 5'9", skinny and last seen wearing dark clothing.
