The Columbia Police Department would like to thank the Boone County Office of Emergency Management for their donation of 56 emergency trauma kits.
The emergency trauma kits were provided to all law enforcement agencies in Boone County, including 16 Missouri State Highway patrolmen who are assigned to this area. In total, Boone County Office of Emergency Management purchased 180 kits at a cost of $245 per kit. The kits include several items that were identified as products that could assist officers in rendering care to victims during an active shooter situation.
Office of Emergency Management's decision to purchase these kits came after several active shooter training programs that included the Rescue Task Force (law enforcement, fire, and EMS). These kits will be placed in all CPD patrol vehicles and will be readily available for officers' use.
For any questions pertaining to the purchase of the kits, please contact Terry Cassil or Martina Pounds with the Office of Emergency Management at (573) 447-5000.
