VEHICLE V.S. PEDESTRIAN LEAVING THE SCENE TRAFFIC CRASH HIGHWAY 63 CONNECTOR ON-RAMP TO HIGHWAY 63 SOUTH

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

On 12/15/2015 at approximately 5:23 P.M. officers were dispatched to the Highway 63 Connector southbound on-ramp to Highway 63 south in reference to a vehicle v.s. pedestrian leaving the scene traffic crash.  Boone County Public Safety Joint Communications received multiple 911 calls advising of a female victim laying on the ground in the median. 

Preliminary investigation revealed the 24 year old victim was walking east across the on-ramp in the roadway.  She was struck by a car or truck and landed in the grass median.  She was observed by several people who called 911 and was located by emergency medical personnel.  She was transported by medics to an area hospital with serious injuries.  The approximate time of the collision is between 5:00 P.M. and 5:20 P.M. 

Traffic Crash Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this vehicle V.S. pedestrian crash or has any information regarding the incident to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
