SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO DISTRIBUTION ARREST ON PARK AVENUE
On 12/9/15 at 2:00 P.M., Columbia Police Vice Narcotics Organized Crime Unit (VNOC) arrested Reginald M. Howard, 46, at 412 Park Avenue for Distribution of Controlled Substance Near Schools with a to be set bond.
On 12/9/15 at 1:30 P.M., VNOC Detectives observed Howard exit his residence at 412 Park Avenue and leave in a vehicle. At approximately 2:00 P.M., VNOC Detectives observed Howard park in front of 412 Park Avenue and exit the vehicle. Detectives began serving the search warrant and detaining Howard in front of the residence.
VNOC Detectives located 27 small baggies of brown powder that tested positive for heroin, an electronic scale with powder residue on it in a backpack, and another electronic scale upstairs along with razors, baggies and cut straws.
The residence at 412 Park Avenue is approximately 285 feet from Douglass High School, 119 feet from Park Avenue Child and Family Development Center and 186 feet from Norah Stewart Early Learning Center. The schools were notified of the search warrant.
