ARMED ROBBERY AT 3100 I-70 DRIVE SOUTHEAST

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

On 8/27/15 at 10:33 A.M., officers were dispatched to 3100 I-70 Drive Southeast, Howard Johnson Motel, in reference to a robbery with a gun.

The investigation revealed a male suspect entered the business and approached the motel clerk (victim). The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The suspect retrieved an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area in an eastbound direction. The Boone County Sheriff's Department assisted the Columbia Police Department with a K-9 track of the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

There were no injuries to the victim during the robbery. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20's to 30's with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored clothing and had cloth covering his face. The investigation is on-going.
