Mill and Overlay Projects on Columbia Roadways to Begin on Friday, August 7

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The Columbia Public Works Street Division will begin annual Mill and Overlay operations on Friday, August 7 at 7:00 am.Work will take place daily, weather permitting, from 7 am to 6 PM. Mill and Overlay operations are scheduled to be completed before the end of August. Motorist should expect minor delays when work is being performed. In addition, streets where work is being performed will be posted as "No Parking" for the day the work is done.

Mill and Overlay maintenance consists of milling about 1 1/2 inches of asphalt from the driving surface and replacing the milled section with new asphalt (overlay). On roads where lane markings are required, temporary marking will be placed until permanent markings can be applied.

The following roads will receive Mill and Overlay -

Bowling Street from BL70 to Ashley St

Sims St from Ashley St to Stone St

Ashley St from Bowling St to Sims St

Lambeth Dr from East end to Clark Ln

Woodridge Rd from Evergreen Ln to Outer Rd

Brown Station Rd from Starke Ln to Route B

Hickory Hill from Sunset Dr to Sunset Dr

Wilkes Bv from College Av to tracks

The following roads will receive spot repairs using Mill and Overlay -

Hitt St

Hickory St

Wilkes Blvd

Country Club Dr

Old Broadway

Rollins Road - east end

Speck Court

Blackfoot Rd

Nursery Rd

Motorist and non-motorized transportation users should use caution in the work zones and find alternate routes when available.
