On 6/17/15 at 7:45 A.M., officers responded to a report of a missing vehicle in the 200 block of Hirth Avenue. The vehicle was described as a blue Honda CRV and was last seen in the driveway of the residence around 12:00 A.M.
At 10:58 P.M., officers observed the stolen vehicle driving in the area of Sixth Street and Wilkes Boulevard. Officers attempted a traffic stop with the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. Officers followed the vehicle north on Providence Road where the vehicle then collided with a fire hydrant and fence poles, and drove onto the football field of 1104 North Providence Road, Hickman High School. Five subjects proceeded to flee from the vehicle on foot. Officers brought in the K-9 Unit for search of the area and were able to locate two of the five subjects.
Officers located Jaron Royshone Gates, 18, near the pool building where he was arrested for Misdemeanor Tampering in the Second Degree with an unknown bond, Misdemeanor Resisting Arrest with an unknown bond, and an outstanding Felony Probation and Parole Warrant with a cash-only bond of $2,500.00.
Additionally, a 16-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile was released to the Juvenile Office for further disposition.
The amount of property damage is unknown at this time. The investigation is on-going.
