On 8/24/11 at 7:51 P.M., Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call at the Days Inn Hotel, 1900 I-70 Drive Southwest. The male victim, 25, was shot in the chest while in his hotel room. The male victim was transported to the University Hospital Emergency Room by personal vehicle. The male victim wounds are not considered life threatening.
The male victim was in his hotel room and the suspect identified as Damoris Pierce displayed a gun and said he was robbing the victim. Pierce discharged the weapon striking the victim in the chest. Pierce is a black male, 19 years old, 6'4, 165 lbs., with short black hair.
This shooting was drug related. The suspect Pierce is wanted for Assault in the 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and other outstanding warrants to include Burglary in the Second Degree and Domestic Assault in the Second Degree.
