Motorcycle Accident Yields Arrest For Forgery

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

MOTORCYLE ACCIDENT YIELDS ARREST FOR FORGERY

 

On 4/28/15 at 8:30 A.M., officers were dispatched to 1900 I70 Drive Southwest, America's Best Value Inn in reference to a motorcycle accident into the business. 

The investigation revealed Julie Miles, age 34, of Columbia, was learning to ride a motorcycle in the parking lot of the business when she lost control and drove the motorcycle through a motel room window. Miles was transported by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.  Officers contacted the owner of the motorcycle, Raymond Crites. Crites had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Crites' warrant was for failure to appear on the original charge of no insurance and failure to display plates with a bond of $500.00

 While investigating the crash, a concerned citizen contacted officers at the scene about people in a hotel room printing counterfeit checks. Officers made contact with a female in the motel room, identified as Danielle Dakon along with two children 14 and 6.  Officers located Thomas Culver hiding in the hotel bathroom.   Culver gave officers permission to search the motel room. While officers were searching the room, they located several hypodermic needles and a small cellophane baggie inside a black makeup bag. Officers terminated the consent search to apply for a search warrant.

 

Officers served the search warrant and located the following:

*methamphetamine

*small amount of marijuana

*several trash bags with several documents containing pedigree information and financial information to subjects not known to Culver or Dakon.

*check stock

*lap top computer

*laser jet printer

Thomas Culver, age 44, from Warsaw, was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00,  Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00, Possession of Forgering Instrumentality with a bond of $4,500.00, and Possession of Controlled Substance Felony with a bond of $4,500.00.

Danielle Dakon, age 32, from St. Joseph, was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00, Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00, Possession of Controlled Substance Felony with a bond of $4,500.00, and Possession of Controlled Substance Felony with a bond of $4,500.00.
