Electronic Waste Collection Event - Saturday, May 2 from 9 am to noon

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Public Works Department - Solid Waste and Recycling, Mid-MO Recycling, and Home Depot will host an Electronic Waste Collection event on Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 am to noon on the parking lot of the Home Depot, 3215 Clark Lane.

This is a great opportunity to give old, worn out electronics a new life rather than placing them in our landfill.

Most items will be collected at no charge, working or not. Those include:

Computers, printers,. scanners, keyboards, computer mice, laptops, wires, hard drives, cell phones, scanners, speakers, VCR's, DVD players, phones, cables, fax machines, pagers, answering machines, stereos' radios, and satellite dishes.

Other items accepted at no charge include:

Car batteries, washing machines, dryers, and stoves.

A few items will be accepted for a nominal charge:

Monitors -    $5.00

Microwaves - $5.00

Portable Televisions - $10.00

Console Televisions - $20.00

Copiers - $25.00
