CPD REQUESTS COMMUNITY INFORMATION REGARDING SHOTS FIRED IN DOWNTOWN COLUMBIA

On 10/12/14 at approximately 1:22 A.M., officers were dispatched to a shots fired incident in the 1000 block of Broadway East. As previously reported, officers located a cartridge casing in the area, and a short time later a male victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The victim has been uncooperative with the investigation. Still, the Columbia Police Department acknowledges a concern for community safety attached to the incident. There were several people in the area when the shots were fired and we are asking those who may have seen or heard anything to please come forward with any information. The Criminal Investigations Division is continuing their investigation and would appreciate assistance from the community in apprehending a suspect(s).
