End Of Watch - October 9, 2014 - Columbia Police K-9 Officer Urac

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

END OF WATCH - OCTOBER 9, 2014-COLUMBIA POLICE K-9 OFFICER URAC

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of K-9 Officer Urac. Urac had been sick for several months and all options to help him, sadly did not work. Urac passed away this morning with his handler Sgt. Scott Hedrick at his side. He was loved by our community and was a beloved member of our department.

K-9 Officer Urac was born on December 16, 2008 in the Czech Republic before joining the Columbia Police Department eighteen months later. Urac became partner and best friend to his handler Sgt. Scott Hedrick. Urac had a long and distinguished career with our department, assisting officers in locating narcotics and capturing offenders. K9 Officer Urac will be sorely missed as we remember his loyal service and constant friendship.

Please keep Urac's handler, partner and best friend Sgt. Scott Hedrick in your thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Urac. Thank you for your service buddy, we'll take it from here.
