Beginning Monday September 29, 2014 at 7:00 a.m., Aplex Inc. will begin work on the Garth Avenue Sidewalk project. This project will consist of constructing a pedestrian crosswalk on Garth Ave at Parkade Blvd. with the northwest ramp reconstructed for ADA compliance and new sidewalk constructed along the east side of Garth Ave from Parkade Blvd to Leslie Ln.
The total project cost is $116,309 with 80% funded by Federal Transportation Enhancement funds and the remaining 20% from the Capital Improvement Sales Tax. This work will result in narrow lanes and parking restrictions along the east side of Garth Ave from Parkade Blvd to Leslie Ln.
Motorists and non-motorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone and use an alternate route whenever possible.
