Come ride with us! GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with Columbia Parks and Recreation, is celebrating the International Mountain Bike Association's eleventh annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 4. The event will be held at Capen Park, (1600 Capen Park Dr).
Take a Kid Mountain Biking is an annual celebration to encourage communities around the world to join together and share the joys of single track riding. This free event is an opportunity for parents to share the joy of off-road cycling with their families. Kids ages 10-14, and their parents will be introduced to the ABC Quick Check, off-road riding skills, and rules of the trail. The event will include a guided trail ride based on age and skill level.
Participants are required to have a bike with fat knobby tires, a helmet and a water bottle. Cycling gloves are suggested. Registration is available by calling 874-7460 or by contacting Janet Godon at [email protected]. T-shirts will be available to the first 50 people to register.
Please call Columbia Parks and Recreation at 874-7460 for additional information or visit gocolumbiamo.com/ParksandRec. Funding for GetAbout Columbia is provided by the Federal Highway Administration's Non-Motorized Transportation Program.
