ARREST MADE IN SHOOTING ON WORLEY STREET
On 7/12/14 at 3:30 P.M., the Columbia Police Department arrested Jamar D. Burns, age 23, from Columbia, for the shooting that occurred in the 300 block of West Worley on 7/5/14 at 11:35 P.M. Burns was arrested at the Boone County Jail for Armed Criminal Action and 2 counts of First Degree Assault with a to be set bond. The investigation in this shooting and other shootings are still ongoing.
Columbia Police Detectives initially arrested Burns on 7/11/14 at 9:40 A.M. in the 200 block of North Old Highway 63 in regards to a drugs call. When detectives arrived they located synthetic marijuana, under 35 grams of marijuana and a handgun. Burns was arrested for Trespass in the First Degree with a bond of $500.00, misdemeanor possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana with a bond of $500.00, felony possession of controlled substance with a bond of $4,500.00 and unlawful for certain persons to possess a concealed weapons with a bond of $4,500.00
