Beginning Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 7:00 am, J.C. Industries, Inc. will begin work on the Downtown Ramps project. This project will consist of pedestrian crosswalk and ADA ramp improvements at the intersection's of Sixth and Cherry, Seventh and Locust, Seventh and Elm, and the Sixth Street alley approach. The project is funded by Community Development Block Grant with a total project cost of $97,776.50. This work will result in temporary road closings of Seventh Street, Cherry Street, and the Sixth Street Alley between Seventh Street and Sixth Street. The first phase of work will begin at the intersection of Sixth Street and Cherry Street, and will result in the temporary closure of Cherry Street.
Motorists and non-motorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
