SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO BURGLARY ARREST
Columbia Patrol Officers arrested burglar, Dustin Lipich, within nine hours of a burglary that occurred at 3912 I-70 Drive Southeast, Carl's Towing. Officer responded to burglary report on 6/5/14 at 6:32 A.M. where several rifles, two handguns and five tablets belonging to AAA Insurance were stolen.
During the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for 5018 Clark Lane that was being rented by Dustin Lipich, as well as his vehicle. During the execution of the search warrant, the stolen rifles were located in the trunk of Lipich's vehicle. The handguns and tablets were located within Lipich's apartment. Lipich was arrested at 3:30 P.M. at 5018 Clark Lane for Burglary in the First Degree with a to be set bond, Property Damage in the Second Degree with a bond of $500.00, and felony Stealing with a to be set bond.
This was a great job by patrol officers catching a burglar suspect so quickly and getting several stolen guns off of the streets of Columbia.
