Important Scott Blvd Phase II Construction Update: Vawter School Road and Scott Blvd Intersection Closure

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The intersection of Scott Blvd at Vawter School Road is currently scheduled to close to all traffic on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:00 a.m. The intersection is scheduled to reopen to all traffic no later than Monday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m.

The closure is a complete intersection closure. Current northbound Scott Blvd to eastbound Vawter School Road and westbound Vawter School Road to southbound Scott will not be possible during the closure.

Motorist are encourage to determine their best alternate route(s) and to begin using them.

It is important to note that the closure date and subsequent opening date may be adjusted slightly over the next 24 hours as the contractor evaluates the weather forecast for early next week.

Motorist are encouraged to monitor our social media site(s), the project web site at ScottBv.com, and local media to stay current on exact closure and opening dates.

This phase of the project is a key milestone. The contractor has 21 days from the date of closure to complete the intersection and reopen it to traffic. The timing of the intersection closure is critical to keeping the Scott Phase II project on schedule.

Other key milestones scheduled to occur on Thursday, May 22, if weather permits, are the paving of the westbound lanes of the new Brushwood Lake Road and the paving of Scott Blvd between roughly Bellview Drive and the north side of the new Scott Blvd bridge over Hinkson Creek.

As mentioned in a recent post, the new bridge construction on Scott Blvd over Hinkson Creek is going well.

We appreciate your patience over the next 3 weeks while the contractor works diligently to complete the intersection of Scott Blvd and Vawter School Road and reopen it to traffic.
