Columbia Pools Set to Open for the Summer

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation's outdoor pools will open for Memorial Day weekend. Pools will be open from 12 to 5 p.m. on May 24, 25, and 26, including Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, Lake of the Woods Pool, Douglass Family Aquatic Center and Little Mates Cove at Twin Lakes.

City pools will close next week, then reopen again for the weekend on May 31 and June 1. Pools will officially open for the summer season on June 6, after Columbia Public Schools are out for the summer. 

Pool fees for the summer vary by facility: at Lake of the Woods Pool and Little Mates Cove, admission is $1.50 for youth between 2 and 15 years of age and $2.75 for adults 16 and older.  Patrons at Douglass Family Aquatic Center pay $1 admission and Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center admission is $2.50 for youth between 2 and 15 years of age and $3.75 for adults 16 and older.

Coupon books and aquatic season passes are available as well.  

Following are pool schedules for the summer. Pool hours are subject to change:

Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, 1900 Blue Ridge Road-12 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Lake of the Woods, 6700 St. Charles Road--1-7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Douglass Family Aquatic Center, 400 N. Providence- 1-7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Little Mates Cove at Twin Lakes, 2500 Chapel Hill Road-11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
