The City of Columbia Sanitary Landfill will host the first ever MO Chapter SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) Landfill Equipment ROAD-E-O this Saturday morning, April 26. Competitors from four landfills around the state have signed up to compete on a tracked dozer. Pre-trip and operational skills test time begins at approximately 9 a.m.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. Limited bleacher seating is available. The landfill is located at 5700 Peabody Road.
For more than 50 years, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field. The association serves over 8,000 members throughout North America, and thousands more with conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses. The MO chapter has 77 members.
