Douglass Baseball Holding Free Skills Clinic

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation is offering a free skills clinic for kids to help kick off the 2014 Douglass Baseball season. It will be held at 10 a.m. on April 26 at the Douglass Park Ballfield. The clinic is open to both boys and girls ages 5-10. No registration is required.

The Douglass Baseball League, which is managed by the Douglass Athletic Association, promotes a fun, non-competitive environment for participants. It is designed to teach kids basic baseball skills.

For those interested in registering for the 2014 baseball season, the cost per child is $27 if received by Thursday, May 1.  Registrations received afterward will cost $32 per child.  Practices begin in May. League play begins in early June.

Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation administrative office (1 S. 7th St.), the Armory Sports Center (701 E. Ash St.), or online at www.gocolumbiamo.com.  Please return registration forms to one of these locations or mail to Douglass Athletic Assoc., P.O. Box 7296, Columbia, MO 65205.

Opportunities are available to assist the league by becoming a coach.  Volunteer coaches and umpires are needed.  For more information, contact Camren Cross at [email protected] or call 874-6378.
