Free Ride Day for all Columbia Transit City Buses March 29th

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Transit is making it easy for locals to live a little greener this weekend in celebration of March 29th Earth Hour. All city buses will be completely free to riders on Saturday as the city celebrates the annual tradition, and recognizes the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. The Free Ride Day applies to all city buses and Para-Transit services, all day Saturday March 29th, including the downtown FastCAT.

Customers also enjoyed free rides on March 20th last week when the city officially kicked-off the Earth Hour celebration before many students left for spring break.

Columbia Transit urges customers to also participate in the world-wide Earth Hour event from 8:30-9:30pm on March 29

th by turning off all lights and non-essential electronics for one hour. Earth Hour is an international celebration that is growing in popularity, and Columbia Transit is happy to be able to help customers "go beyond the hour" and live a more earth-friendly life every day.
