Downtown FastCAT switching to Academic Break Schedule while students on Spring Break

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Transit's downtown FastCAT route will be switching over to the Academic Break Schedule tomorrow evening as many students head out of town for Spring Break. The downtown route will continue to function during the break for businesses and employees in the district as well as servicing the University of Missouri and Stephens College campuses, but service frequency will be reduced to about every 30 minutes for each stop, instead of the usual 15 minutes.

Although the Academic Break Schedule does not offer the higher frequency service, the 30 minute route is still a very convenient option for students staying in town over break, and downtown customers that use the route as well. The adjusted schedule is specially designed to match up with the other city-wide bus departure times from the downtown Wabash Station for customers making transfers.

The FastCAT route will switch over to the Academic Break Schedule at 6:00 pm on Friday evening, with the last evening departure occurring at 8:25pm. The adjusted schedule will be in effect for this route through Saturday March 29th, and return to the normal service hours on Monday, March 31st as students return from break.

The Tigerline bus routes, a free bus service for the University of Missouri, will not be operating while MU campus is on break, and will make its final evening departure from the Student Center at 7:25 pm Friday. This service will resume for students on Sunday, March 30th at 1:00 pm before classes start back up.
