Snow Operations Update - 3:30 PM on Monday, January 6

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Crews have remained on residential streets throughout the day and will do so overnight. From time to time a crew may need to clean up some area's on Priority Routes. We have an estimated 55% of residential streets plowed to passable conditions.

Personnel and equipment from Public Works street, parking, and sewer divisions, Columbia Parks and Recreation, and Columbia Water & Light are being used to plow residential streets to passable conditions.

Residents can help us plow residential streets curb to curb by moving vehicles off of the street and into driveways and other parking areas.

Remember to shovel snow to the right side of the driveway as you're facing the street to reduce (not eliminate) the amount of snow plows may push back in front of your driveway.

Progress map is active and updated as of 3:00 PM at Comosnow.com

Columbia Transit is running on Emergency Weather Schedule today with a few detours. This information will be updated for Tuesday's schedule after 5:00 am on Tuesday, January 7.

Columbia Regional Airport is open. We urge travelers to continue to check with their carrier for up to date flight status. There have been delays and flight cancellations today due to widespread flight cancellations in Chicago and other cities.

Solid waste (trash and recycling) collections will resume on Tuesday, January 7. Collections will be delayed one day this week.
