Snow Operations Update - Monday, Janaury 6 at 7:30 am

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Snow - Update: Crews have completed priority routes overnight and made better than expected progress in residential areas.

Bitter cold has rendered most treatments, i.e. salt, ineffective.

Today's operations -

Crews will be on residential streets although we may have to touch up priority roads from time to time.

Personnel and equipment from Public Works street, parking, and sewer divisions, Columbia Parks and Recreation&65279;, and Columbia Water & Light are being used to plow residential streets to passable conditions.

Residents can help us plow residential streets curb to curb by moving vehicles off of the street and into driveways and other parking areas.

Remember to shovel snow the the right side of the driveway as you're facing the street to reduce (not eliminate) the amount of snow plows may push back in front of your driveway.

Progress map is active and updated as of 7:00 am at Comosnow.com

Residential curbside trash and recycling is not running today. All collection dates are pushed back one day this week.

Columbia Transit&65279; is running on Emergency Weather Schedule today with a few detours.

Columbia Regional Airport is open. We urge travelers to continue to check with their carrier for up to date flight status.
