Crews have been treating roads in Columbia since 2:00 am with salt. Crews reported roads were mostly wet as of 5:00 PM with some patchy ice.
97% of Columbia streets have been treated as of 5:30 PM. Crews are now refocusing on priority routes as temperatures drop a degree or two and some refreeze may occur.
Full night crew on duty and will touch the remaining residential streets after ensuring priority routes are in good shape.
Forecast still calling for additional freezing rain and drizzle overnight with the potential of a dusting to 1/2 inch of snow.
Public Works is also monitoring a forecast increase in wind speeds which could have the potential to cause limbs and tree's to fall.
As with any potential winter weather, we urge our customers to monitor current weather and road conditions via local media and via our website at Comosnow.com. Driving conditions could deteriorate rapidly and become dangerous at any time.
Next update after 7:00 am Sunday morning.
