MEDIA RELEASE - 12-16-13
COLUMBIA POLICE INVESTIGATE FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT ON REDWOOD ROAD
On 12-16-13, at 3:57 A.M., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Redwood Road in reference to a male subject yelling for help outside of home. Upon arrival officers found a 49 year old male victim with injuries to his head. The victim, who also resides in the 100 block of Redwood, reported he had been assaulted with a blunt object in his home by a recently met acquaintance. The victim stated the suspect stole property from him after the assault.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment of his serious injuries.
Detectives from the Columbia Police Department Criminal Investigation Division are actively investigating the case.
Suspect Description:
A black male, approx. 30 years old, 5'6", 160 lbs, short fade haircut, no facial hair, wearing jeans and a silver shirt.
